Right & Wrong

wrongright Right & Wrong

life seemed much easier when i was younger. right and wrong were clearly defined..
hurting people….wrong
helping…right
telling the truth…right

but as time passes, you realize that things are not as easy as they seem. right and wrong are not as easily distinguished as you’d like.
then you realize that hurting people might be the right thing to do in some cases, provided that you’d still stick around to heal them..
and some people just don’t want to be helped..
you learn that telling the truth might just end up making things worse

sometimes i wonder how much things change as life becomes more complicated…
things may seem right at first glance, but if you look closer, you see that there are many other things to consider.. you end up constantly re-evaluating right and wrong, and end up being confused which is which..

the art of delicately handling situations seems more important than ever now that you know people from all walks of life.. each individual might not share the same ideas you do… i, for example, find eating meat wrong because i believe we have no right to kill animals. this definitely contradicts what the rest of the world thinks..but it is not wrong for me to have my own ideals and it is also not wrong for others to have their own. it is when people try to force-feed their values to others that problems arise.

most people find it hard to accept that there are people who are different, it is the fear of something different that leads to racism and conflicts. if everyone were the same, life would just be plain boring.. i think that when people have different ideals and values, trying to understand them and seeing their point of view will only broaden your perspective on life. it is always interesting to see how others think.. and there’s definitely no right and wrong when it comes to opinion.
