So I want to be a doctor? These are the things that I need to tell my self:

Are you sure?
Yes I do having second thought and I’m trying to get rid of those.

You can’t turn back!
What is behind is history. I am on a mission and this is a mission possible. I have to look forward to be a doctor.

You have to be willing to do what you are supposed to do.
I have to be prepared mentally, emotionally, physically and etc. I have to enjoy the routines of a medical student’s life with the personal routines and of course the academic routines(. Hm…I really didn’t start this preparation yet. Need some improvement here.)

Social routines
Oh how I’m lacking of friends. True friends I mean.

You have to be committed.
I need to focus and do not get distracted (for example; like this blogging thing..haha..). Determined!

You have to be consistent.
Maintain momentum and keep improving. (I don’t see any improvement in me. I MUST IMPROVE!!!)

You have to be on tract.
I need to define my tract (which I’m having problems of), I need to audit my performance (trying to). I need to identify and realize any deviations early (well I guess, it’s too late now) and get help early (hope this is not too late)

And you have to let the success come naturally.
I do what I enjoy and I’m trying to enjoy what I do (Insya Allah)

Community thoughts on what motivates a student to enter medical school:

Students are idealistic on entry into medical school. They talk about studying medicine to become physicians and serve the community.

Towards the end of their education, many students talk about benefiting from their education to find a job, enjoy easy life and have a high social status.
